SPX went relatively well. Sales on BlackSheep #2 were healthy, though hardly staggering. This is due to a couple of things: Greater D.C. is a considerably more conservative area than my own Bay Area or New York (where my sales are always much better) there were also issues with traffic flow (or lack of) in the convention center itself. For most of the first day only one door was open at the far corner of the hall. The few people who made it all the way around to our side were pretty well picked clean. They opened two more doors on the second day, which helped considerably. Still, Friday sales (and, really...a Friday con in that area is just foolish) were so abysmal that the rally on Saturday didn't make up for it.

The new location is far from ideal as well. It's several stops up in White Flint and doesn't have half the accoutrements that the old location does. The closest restaurants were Arby's and McDonalds. Locating essentials like beer proved to be
pretty difficult too.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad! I really enjoyed hanging out with my friends and table mates, Geoff Vasille (Trackrabbit) Joe Sayers (Thingpart) and Justin Decarlo (Hypertoast). I also got to meet a few people that I've encountered only in the pages of anthologies and online like Onsmith, Eleanor Davis and Kaz(imir). There's more but I can't remember them right now through the haze of beer.

Dirty Sanchez has been released from his contract in the Funhouse Quality Assurance Department for reasons that I can't discuss (seriously, don't ask). Stay tuned for the announcement of his replacement.
