Black Sheep and MoCCA
June 11th and 12th was the MoCCA convention http://www.moccany.org/index.html at New York's Puck Building. This was my first year tabling and I must say, I was not disappointed. There were a great many off-the-street attendees and an unheard of mix of men, women, young, old...a few crazies, but that's to be expected at a comic convention. Sales were healthy but, as we were 3000 miles from home in the city that makes San Francisco look affordanle, the take home was negligible. I did get to hang out in my second favorite city during some of the hottest, most humid days of the year (it even made MY hair curl)and we met Joe Coleman:

I debuted my new book Black Sheep at MoCCA. It's been in the planing stages for more years than I care to mention, much of it predating the first Shpilkes. Here's the press release.

Black Sheep is my new thrice yearly series. It continues the one-man-anthology format started in Shpilkes but features a new and infinitely more pronounceable title. This issue features part one of the six chapter "Neighborhood of the Beast". Our hero Ivan apartment hunting. His limited budget forces him to the wrong side of the tracks and over his head. "Neighborhood of the Beast" explores the darker side of suburbia that popular culture ignores. "Visually this is Fredo's strongest representation...His storytelling ability really emerges." - Matt Holdaway from Poopsheet 32 page mini with a 4 color silkscreened wraparound cover. Get it here: http://www.altgeek.net/route/store_index.htm http://www.altgeek.net/route/store_index.htm

Now be good boys and girls and go order a copy or two. I need the closet space.
